• An OA depicts a process flow with enough detail to identify:
  • Activity boundaries
  • Infrastructure
  • Information Exchange Requirements (IERs)

• Within a functional area (i.e., logistics) there are multiple OAs (but a finite amount)

• If you don’t know what the operational scheme of maneuver is, how do you know if your fire support plan is comprehensive?
