Production in SCM

• The production of a good is carried out by a succession of operations consuming of the resources transforming the morphological or space matter characteristics.

• The production of a service is also carried out by a succession of operations consuming of the resources without there being necessarily transformation of matters.

The function production has as an aim the transformation of these matters or components in finished products. It is in the heart of the industrial company and is interfaced with the whole of the other functions of the company.
