Savona

The Coat of Arms

First design of the Arms of Savona is one millenium old. The town was involved heavily in european wars during the Middle Age as Ghibelline (supporter of the Emperors forces against the Popes).
The sign changed many times just based on the success or defeat on battlefields;
but finally, in the second half of last century, it come back to the original look that we could see in this picture.
