Simulation Using Intelligent Mobile Agents

Abstract:
A methodology for implementing mobile agents and an example to use them in problem solving by simulation is described. The structure of the simulation model is based on the extension of Knowledge Attributed Petri Nets. In the solution described, the mobile entities moving in the model network have knowledge bases, inference engines and acting features. They may correspond with the static model network and each other. Their acting part can influence the structure and parameters of the simulation model during dynamic simulation. The application of the methodology and its implementation in a simulation system is illustrated on an example. The simulation example deals with the complex searching and optimizing procedure of investments based on the decision of the investors obtaining information from various localities in the region investigated during the dynamic simulation run.
