SIMULATION SPEEDUP FOR DEVS MODELS BY COMPOSITION-BASED COMPLILATION

Abstract:
The Discrete Event Systems Specification (DEVS) formalism, developed by Zeigler, specifies discrete event models in a hierarchical, modular form. This paper proposes a method for simulation speedup for DEVS models by use of composition-based compilation. The experimental result shows that simulation time using the method is about sixteen times faster than that using the existing one.
