Visualization of Data Filtered by Mathematical Formulations

Abstract:
This article describes an analytical visualization tool which allows the user to select regions of interest within the data by means of mathematically formulated filters. This kind of filter is useful in analytical applications since it allows for an implicit form of inferring on the data. The results which can be obtained by the proposed tool are illustrated through visualizations generated from a case study in the area of heat transfer.
