Abstract:
The utilization of Collaborative Immersive Visualization Environments at Oil companies is a fact. They are now adopting these tools to analyze exploration and production data. The accurate and efficient identification and development of fresh petroleum reservoirs determine an important competitive advantage within the industry. There are several solutions at this marketplace. This work present a classification of them, yours main characteristics and also shows the major factors that promote the immersion and affects directly in the cost of system. In this survey is discussed several aspects about the projection technology (CRT, DLP,…), the application of non-conventional I/O devices (Trackers, gloves, handheld, …), number of audience, and son. Furthermore, it shows also the advantages e contribution of visualization tools at oil companies.
