VEHICLE ORIGIN-DESTINATION PETRI NET: ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES

Abstract:
This paper presents interesting results which concern the recently introduced Vehicle Origin
Destination Petri Net (VODPN). It aims at allowing the performance evaluation of whole public transportation
systems by providing users with the well adapted graphical interface of the VODPN. Indeed, this tool is an
extension of the well known timed Petri Net (PN) for dealing with pubic transportation systems. However, even
if the method of simulation of VODPN was introduced, mathematical formulation for performance evaluation
does not exist. Thus, this new tool poses some interesting challenges which are addressed in this paper.
