Logistics Cooperative Functional Training System based on HLA Distributed Simulation

Abstract:
This paper proposes a new project for developing a
new generation of training equipment, based on
simulation and virtual reality, devoted to support
companies operating in logistics; the project includes
the creation of simulators for crane operators and truck
drivers reducing training costs and improving safety
and efficiency.
SI.TRA.NE.T. (Simulation Training-Networking for
Equal opportunities in Transport) project is working
forward on development of a training equipment
devoted to cooperative operation in logistics
environment.
The system allows to run real-time distributed
simulation based on HLA among crane operators and
truck drivers in container terminal
This project propose un example of combining
experience in simultion with complex real problems
that can be effectively solved by new enabling
technologies such HLA and new advance in PC
performances.
