ABSTRACT

Port plants that store and re-distribute coal to different users have become very successful in the Mediterranean basin. However, the huge initial investments require increasingly precise planning from both a design and economic point of view. This application proposes a concurrent design of system architecture and the simulation model. Thus it is possible to correct the design and to estimate the affect of the endogenous factors over all possible design choices.
